We will create our first
face as fun or sinister, odd, beautiful, simple or complicated, sharp or
furry, but especially dimensional(think 3-d) Persona (identity) using: expression,
detail, colour and pattern. These four areas of representation
can help our masks define what they are trying to ‘say’.
The second face,
the one on the inside, is our Shadow cast by our first face. It is also something to be extra creative about, in our
own way, by trying to connect to differences from the first face. This
sounds complicated, and can be if you want. It can be rich and full of narrative
(telling the story of itself and also then, something of the first
face!). A good start is to consider Expression, Detail, Colour and
Pattern and even media, differently from your first face –
then move out from there with your ideas.
Tanya made the point that our first-face is a reaction. It is made-up by a specific situation of your choosing. The second-face is also a reaction, to the first-face.
